Oppenheim, Germany, May 1945. The war is at its final epilogue. Adolf Hitler committed suicide and Nazi troops are capitulating tightly in the grip of allied . In a small English field hospital, commanded by Dr. Smith, Abby Taylor and Adele Evans work, two courageous nurses who take care of the numerous wounded coming from the front. On a memorable 8 May, hospital staff and inpatients listen with joy and emotion to the speech by Winston Churchill who, through the radio, announces the unconditional surrender of Germany and the end of the war in Europe.
