With "The Reeseoliver — Bed's Leaving Home," Alis Locanta's formidable, inventive and addictive ten-episode softcore series reaches its conclusion. And, true to former gigs of the complex, nuanced, and multi-layered narrative, that conclusion comes with an assortment of surprises. In the most fair and direct confrontation with her long-time boyfriend, Franck Franco, headliner Luna explains the inspiration for the series of stories she's been writing: simply put, she imagines him in sexual adventures with other women...who happen to be alternate versions of Luna, herself. Then in a notably bold and dramatic gesture, she resumes to write another story about Franck as he sits with her, witnessing and listening, in rapt attention. This story pairs Franco with young, saucy (but also nasty) version of Luna played by Taylor Sands. Sands and Franco have three vignettes together, the first a playful and romantic flirtation in the kitchen, a much more warmed meeting in the living room including a torrid soixante-neuf, and a final vigorously orgasmic mid-day interlude. Luna's relationship with Whitney Conroy also reaches a orgasm of its own — or rather 2 climaxes — in a warmed shower gig of passionate and vocal lesbianism. And Luna, as she reads and writes her story for Franco, faps to ecstasy entranced by the images and imaginings in her fevered, creative mind. Sometimes joyous, haunting, intensely softcore and, ultimately, deeply moving, "The Reeseoliver — Bed's Leaving Home" is a bittersweet but splendid completing to a intensely satisfying work of softcore cinema.
