Lupus Pictures’ fresh film, Stalin 3, is the final part of the Stalin trilogy. What began as a playful story with a bitter meaning and continued with the darker Stalin 2 last year, is now finished in the last instalment. This part not only puts the other Stalin movies into context; in the story of Nikolaja Laudon it shows the horror and desperation of all totalitarian regimes, by whatever name they use. The video masterly mixes up the acted parts with both real and fictitious archive materials. It takes place just after Stalin 2, presenting the story and continuing with the heroine from the point where she is sentenced to be locked up in a “medical” institute controlled by the StB and the Ministry of Defence of the then communist Czechoslovakia. We ensue Nikalaja through the whole ordeal, watching the stories and fates of the gals who enter her life for a brief but highly significant time. We sight into the guards’ faces, assess the characters and qualities of these unusual guys who worked for the communist machine. Tho' shocking these motives may be today; at one time they were commonplace. Thus the hittings and torment of the gals that we watch – aware of the genre – conform to accommodate many unusual fantasies. One gushes his forlorn hopes while others conceal their guilty consciences. Others are simply at the grace of a perversity that can’t be controlled. And others commit their atrocities simply because they can’t think for themselves. Besides the thoughts of the narrator, we also hear the comments of a historian and a psychologist. We hear from a prior guard of a similar institute as well, which is both impressive and terrifying. The story continues through Nikolaja’s unleash and ends in the introduce day. It connects the events of the 50s and afterward era with the political and social reality of the starting of the 21st century. It’s also a warning: this nightmare is real. It can still happen today. Remember: at the begin of WWII no one believed those events could happen either... No, this story is not real. But it lightly could have been real. Similar stories – and periodically even worse – happened to thousands of people. Real people who had their own lives, dreams and troubles, mates and families. They didn’t have a opportunity to defend themselves, escape or prefer their destiny. We must never leave behind that. And even tho' we can love Stalin 3 as a traditional lashing movie, we should be aware that we never want this to happen in reality. But unlike the characters, we can do something about that. Apart from the above-mentioned, you’ll watch 5 gals bashed with a trouser snake by a masochistic nymph guard. You’ll watch a girl made to sit on a wooden while her back is whipped, along with genitals lashing and many other tortures that the guards used to manage their prisoners.
